I was inspired to create this piece after observing a group of ducks swimming together. After watching them for a while and listening to all of the constant quacking, the ducks started to sound more as if they were arguing with each other rather than communicating. The more I listened, the more I heard arguing and that became very funny to me. Shortly after I noticed a few female ducks swimming in the mix, I knew that I was on to my next idea. All in fun, I thought it would be a bit comical to capture this moment and illustrate a female duck arguing with her male counterpart. I can only hope that my wife finds this piece to be as funny as I do?
